The demands come under the theme of ‘Social Justice and Decent Work for All,’ reflecting the NLC’s focus on addressing key issues affecting workers’ welfare and rights. The seven demands include improved labour-government industrial relations, full implementation of the minimum wage across all sectors, settlement of pension arrears, and the creation of compressed natural gas conversion centers in all senatorial districts.

Furthermore, the NLC calls for the fixing of Port Harcourt and Kaduna refineries, granting local government autonomy, and providing infrastructure support schemes to all local governments. These demands highlight the NLC’s commitment to advocating for workers’ rights and enhancing socio-economic conditions across Nigeria. Here are their demands. 

1. Establishment of state and local government police.

4. Full implementation of the minimum wage across all sectors (700k, yet to be approved)
5. Settlement of pension arrears.
6. Establishment of compressed natural gas conversion centers.
