For Samsung phone users, if you forget the password or the pattern to your phone, you don’t need to flash your phone. you also don’t need to factory reset the phone and lose all your data.
Although most people will tell you that there is no way out unless you do the factory reset of the phone and lose your data. But Samsung has this cool and special feature where if you forget the password or the pattern to your phone, you can actually unlock the phone remotely from their servers.
But before this will work, here’s what you need to do first.
— On your Samsung phone,
Make sure you create a Samsung account and connect it to your phone number.
— Once you create a Samsung account, go to security.
— Under security, navigate to My Mobile.
— Then tap on Allow This Phone To Be Found.
— Here you see this option that says remote unlock. Make sure it’s enabled.
— Once you tap on it, it’s going to give you this option.
— Then say turn on.
— Then you’re going to put your pattern or your pin or your password at that moment.
And now your Samsung password is securely backed up on the Samsung server.
So let’s assume right now that I’ve forgotten the password or the pattern to this phone now. I can’t for some reason, I can’t remember it. Here’s what I’m going to do.
— I’m going to carry another phone or a laptop. I’m going to go to SmartThingsFind.Samsung.com
— I’m going to sign in with my Samsung account. Once that is done, I can actually see my phone will appear here or all my Samsung phones that are using the same Samsung account will all appear here.
— If I’ve forgotten the pattern of my phone like this one now that I’ve forgotten the pattern, what I can just do is I will just up here I will just scroll.
— There’s an option here that says unlock.
— So I’m going to tap on Unlock and it’s going to ask me if I want to unlock it. I said unlock.
— It’s going to prompt me to put in my password again. I’m going to put in my password of my Samsung account again.
— And then I’ll say Okay
Immediately, my phone just unlocks back. If you have a Samsung phone right now, this is a feature that you must turn on and make sure it’s enabled just in case something like this happens to you.
